Kugali Presents Newborn Saga

Have you heard about Kugali, the online database showcasing some of the most awesome comics, games, and animations from Africa and the African Diaspora?

Kugali is launching their first exclusive graphic novel, titled Newborn Saga

Set in ancient Africa, this epic fantasy chronicles the adventures of a group of heroes from ten different African tribes who join forces to stop a deadly curse.

Issue One, which is now available for pre-orders will be released in May 2017.

Having seen the tremendous amount of talent and hard work that went into producing Issue 0, which is available for free online reading, I'm quite eager to get my hands on the upcoming 150-page release.

I'm particularly stoked about this project because I'm acquainted with the founders of Kugali. Demi, Tolu, and Ziki are also the hosts of the Kugali Podcast (formerly known as the Tao of Otaku Podcast) on which I've had the pleasure of being a guest in the past.

I'm excited that these awesome guys are launching a project that they've obviously been working on for quite some time. The artwork and storytelling promise to be nothing short of impressive. Plus, we're just touching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to exploring graphic stories of POC's, created for POC's by POC's. Newborn Saga is a great example of the kind of graphic novels I'd like to see more of.

If you like the sound of Newborn Saga so far, check out Issue 0 and Pre-order Issue One @ Kugali
